Volumes in our office are high this time of the year, whether students are contacting us by email, phone, fax or in person. If you have submitted documents, it may take 5-8 business days for receipt of these documents to show up on Wolverine Access in the student’s secure portal. We appreciate your patience as we work to award aid for 2017-18.
The IRS has taken its Data Retrieval Tool offline and the U-M Office of Financial Aid is recommending that students complete their 2017-18 FAFSAs without delay, manually entering tax return information into the online application. We must receive your FAFSA by April 30 to consider you for all aid. See more information about applying for aid without the IRS Data Retrieval Tool in this post.
The U-M Student Employment Office recently updated its website: https://studentemployment.umich.edu. The refreshed website allows students to apply for multiple jobs in one visit and offers better navigation and tools for visitors, including employers. The Student Employment Office is part of the U-M Office of Financial Aid and assists students looking for part-time work while attending college.
We sometimes request federal tax return transcripts or other documents from students and parents as we consider students for gift aid. You will receive an email from our office if we need these. Log in to Wolverine Access for a list of needed documents and submit them to our office by June 1.
