June 1 deadline: Submit required documents to be considered for available aid

The June 1 priority deadline is this week for submitting supplemental, required documents, which we sometimes request in considering students for gift aid. It may take up to 5 business days for your documents to be processed and to show in Wolverine Access, but those meeting the June 1 deadline will be considered on time for aid purposes.

Completing your 2017-18 FAFSA without IRS Data Retrieval

The IRS has taken its Data Retrieval Tool offline, but the Department of Education assures families and students that the FAFSA application remains safe and available online. The U-M Office of Financial Aid recommends that students complete their 2017-18 FAFSAs without delay, manually entering tax return information so that we receive your information by April 30 to consider you for all aid. Please give us time to process your 2017-18 financial aid documents

Volumes in our office are high this time of the year, whether students are contacting us by email, phone, fax or in person. If you have submitted documents, it may take up to 5 business days for receipt of these documents to show up on Wolverine Access in the student’s secure portal. We appreciate your patience as we work to award aid for 2017-18 and for the 2017 Spring and Summer terms.

Tax transcripts or additional documents needed? Submit them by June 1

We sometimes request federal tax return transcripts or other documents from students and parents as we consider students for gift aid. You will receive an email from our office if we need these. Log in to Wolverine Access for a list of needed documents and submit them to our office by June 1.
