M. Elizabeth Manganello Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established by Timothy M. and M. Elizabeth Manganello in 2015 to provide need-based support to undergraduate students enrolled full time at the University of Michigan.

Purpose

The scholarship encourages students from rural counties in Michigan to attend the University of Michigan. Preference is given to graduates of Lewiston-Johannesburg High School in Michigan. Consideration will also be given to students from the following counties in the State of Michigan: Keweenaw, Ontonagon, Luce, Schoolcraft, Oscoda, Baraga, Montmorency, Alger, Lake, Iron, Presque Isle, Crawford, Missaukee, Arenac, Gobebic, Kalkaska, Benzie, Ogemaw, Leelanau, Osceola, Antrim, Menominee, Roscommon, Ostego, Manistee, Iosco, Gladwin, Cheboygan, Dickinson, Charlevoix, Oceana, Mason, Clare, Huron, Wexford, Emmet, Houghton, Delta, Chippewa, Sanilac, Gratiot, Mecosta, Branch, Hillsdale, Newaygo, Cass, Tuscola, Barry, St. Joseph, Montcalm, Ionia, Marquette, Shiawassee, Isabella, Van Buren, Clinton, Midland, Lapeer, Grand Traverse, Lenawee, Bay, Eaton, Allegan, Calhoun.

Eligibility

One scholarship will be awarded each year to a student who:

  • is a graduating senior from Lewiston-Johannesburg High School or one of the counties listed above;
  • is admitted to an undergraduate program at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor;
  • demonstrates financial need, as defined by the Office of Financial Aid; and
  • is a Michigan resident.

Selection

Each year, the University of Michigan’s Office of Financial Aid will review the list of eligible students and select the student who best meets the scholarship’s eligibility criteria.

Deadlines

Notification

Scholarship recipient(s) will be notified by the end of April.

Amount

The amount of the scholarship varies, depending on the annual income from the endowment fund.
