Summer Bridge Scholars Program

The Summer Bridge Scholars Program gives students the opportunity to strengthen academic skills, develop a peer support network, and familiarize themselves with campus during the summer months before their first year begins.
How to Apply Aid
We strongly recommend that all students admitted to the Summer Bridge Scholars Program apply for financial aid for both the summer term and the following fall and winter terms. We request that students submit documents for the Summer Bridge Program and fall/winter aid at the same time.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Complete the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible using student/parents’ 2021 federal income tax information and U-M’s federal school code 002325. Your information will be used to determine your eligibility for grants and loans to assist with the cost of the Summer Bridge Scholars Program.

Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID)
All contributors to the FAFSA need a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). This is used to electronically sign the FAFSA application. You will use your FSA ID each year, so keep it in a safe place and do not share it with anyone including a tax preparer. To create your FSA ID, visit the Federal Student Aid website.

Complete the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid prior to the March 31 deadline using student/parents’ 2022 income tax information and U-M's federal student code 002325.
CSS Profile
Complete the CSS Profile if you wish to be considered for U-M grants and merit scholarships that demonstrate need. Use U-M's CSS code 1839 to ensure that we receive your information. The CSS Profile is available on Oct. 1 each year.

*Tuition and fees listed are based on approved rates for the 2023-2024 academic year. Rates are approved each June by the U-M Board of Regents and estimated budgets are updated at that time. Tuition and fees may be higher or lower depending on a student's program of study; these estimated budgets use information from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. Current tuition information is available through the Office of the Registrar.
